Final Super D Date Change

The final race in the D Cup is going to be pushed back one week to May 4th. This allows all those who plan to participate at Massanutten to still have a chance to "blow our doors off" at the final race. What will be the final trail in the 2012 D Cup? This gives us another week to decided. See you guys May 4th and good luck this weekend to all those competing at the Nut. Enjoy

D CUP #4-North Mountain to 311

Possibly the best. Parking is at the Dragon's Tooth parking area. The trail begins almost directly across 311 and up for 2.5 miles or so. We will end timing as the trail pops out of the woods and the start will be as far up as possible without any major uphills.

First rider down: 5:45 pm

Start climbing early and we will certainly wait if you are late.

Please bring new riders and show them all the wonderful and less ridden trails that we have and love. We still need suggestions for the final two trails.

Round 3, Gauntlet info

Stoked! Gauntlet has got to be my favorite trail at the cove.
Like the kirbster said, 5:30ish at the top of new gauntlet, we'll race from sign to sign.
YOU NEED A PASS TO RIDE THE COVE. They have started giving real ($25) tickets for not having or properly displaying your pass. passes are available at all the parking lots from a honor-system drop-box thing like douthat. $2/day or $20/year, cash or check.
Also, do we have any volunteers willing to not race so we can have a split time at the old-new gauntlet junction? Not critical but it would be cool.
If you haven't been out there in a while there is plenty of parking at the bottom of trough, and that is about the easiest way to the top. MAP
Directions to timberview parking:
from the light at 311 & 419, go north on 419 (away from gas stations) for a few hundred feet.
left on to dutch oven rd. just after the bridge. go a few hundred more feet.
right on timberview, follow it to the end.

see ya'll then!

D CUP # 3-The Cove-Gauntlet?

Friday April 6th at Carvins Cove on the Gauntlet. This weeks race is hosted by the Blue Ridge Gravity crew on some of the areas best trails. We will meet at the top of the "new Gauntlet" at 5:30. If you are running late don't worry, we never start on time.

The last two downhills are yet to be decided but we are taking suggestions. We need something interesting for #5 and what is your favorite Pandapas downhill for #6.

Cheers.
